The project involved designing a new ticketing counter for scenic miniature trains at the Palmerston North Esplanade Miniature Railway. The design vocabulary was inspired by the quintessential Kiwi railway station, while large exposed glulam portals a material echo of the surrounding dense vegetation. Our scope of work involved design, consultation with user groups and the urban design review panel, and gaining building consent.
